Happy Sunday guys! Recipe of the day is Sticky Asian Meatballs – delicious and comforting this all time favourite recipe is quick and simple to make.
Meatballs are one of our family favourites – they’re not only easy to make but there are so many version and you can serve them with rice, mash potatoes, noodles and even veggies.
What you need:
For the meatballs:
- mince meat (beef & pork)
- an egg
- onion
- garlic
- breadcrumbs
- sesame seeds
- salt and pepper
- sunflower oil for frying
For the Sticky Sauce:
- dark soy sauce
- honey
- garlic
- fresh ginger
- cornflour
- tomato concentrate
- rice vinegar
- salt and pepper
Here’s how to make these delicious Sticky Asian Meatballs
Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
- 700g mince meat (equal parts pork and beef)
- 1 egg
- 80g breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1tbsp sesame seeds
- salt and pepper
- 2tbsp sunflower oil for frying
For the Sticky Sauce:
- 1tbsp honey
- 3tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1tbsp tomato concentrate
- 1tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2tsp cornflour
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1tbsp rice vinegar
- salt to taste
Preparation:
- In a bowl, combine the ingredient for the meatballs and mix well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Take the bowl out of the fridge and make small meatballs.
- Heat a pan with the oil and fry the meatballs, turning them over constantly for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from the pan and add the sticky sauce sauce ingredients. Simmer for about 15 minutes and add the meatballs in.
- Lower the heat and leave for another 15 minutes. Make sure to stir the mixture constantly.
- Sprinkle the sesame seeds and serve over rice, noodle or mash poatoes.
