Happy Meatless Monday!
Another hummus recipe is on the blog today – Urid Bean Hummus.
I have never tried urid beans before and I only regret it.
I found these healthy protein packed goodies in an international store and was very excited to try them out.
As you know, I love love hummus, so this is what I made of them.
And the result was not disappointing at all!
What else can I add – tasty, healthy, easy and toddler friendly!

Here’s what you need.
Mummy’s Fast & Easy

  • 300g/10oz urid beans, cooked
  • 200g/7oz tahini
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juice only
  • salt
  • water

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and work the mixture with a hand blender.
  2. The beans are really thick and creamy so you need to add a bit of water. I added about 1/2 a cup but if you wish, add more. I like my hummus thick.
  3. Serve with extra olive oil on top and throw a few urid beans for decoration.

Tip: Why not try this Urid Bean hummus with some radishes! They’re crunchy, tasty and colourful!
