Happy Thursday guys! Recipe of the day is Cheesy Patty Melt with Chillies & Caramelised onions – so delicious and satisfying!
What you need:
- beef & pork mince
- sandwich bread
- onions
- cheese
- chillies
- butter
- salt and pepper
After our fav place to get one of these AMAZING patty melts closed, I had no choice but to recreate them at home. It is actually quite simple and I am sure everyone can make it.
It uses a few ingredients and it’s all about melting that cheese with the mince. Adding a few slices of freshly chopped chillies and caramelised onions make it out of this world though. 🙂
Here’s how to make this Cheesy Patty Melt with Chillies
Ingredients:
- 300g beef & pork mince (50/50 mix)
- around 6 slices of bread ( I used sourdough)
- 2 white onions, sliced and caramelised
- 120g mild cheese, grated
- 2 fresh chillies, chopped
- 50g butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- In a bowl, season the mince meat with salt and pepper and mix well.
- To build the patty melt, spread some of the mince meat, then top it up with the caramelised onions, cheese and freshly chopped chillies. Close the sandwich with another slice of bread and press down to flatten the sandwich. Repeat with the rest.
- Heat the butter in a pan and cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until the meat is cooked and the cheese is melted. They should be nicely golden and crispy on the outside.
- Serve with a side of chips and/or side salad. It is quite delicious and filling on its own too. 🙂
Enjoy!
I hope you guys love this recipe as much as we did. Stay tuned for more quick, easy & tasty seasonal recipes coming soon.
