Happy Thursday guys! Recipe of the day is The Best Tiramisu Recipe, according to my family. 🙂
I’ve been making this gorgeous Tiramisu literally for years now but it is always gone by the time I make some snaps of it. It is divine – silky and creamy and quite straightforward to make. Make sure to use a good espresso and Marsala wine. The Sabayon is a must too. 🙂
What you need:
- Savoiardi biscuits
- Marsala wine
- Mascarpone cheese
- double cream
- sugar
- egg yolks
- espresso
- cocoa powder
Here’s how to make The Best Tiramisu Recipe
Ingredients:
- 300g Savoiardi biscuits
- 500g Mascarpone cheese
- 300ml double cream
- 4 egg yolks
- 140ml Marsala wine
- 100g sugar
- cocoa powder for dusting
For the Savoiardi biscuits:
- 150ml strong espresso
- 2tbsp sugar
- 100ml Marsala wine
Preparation:
- To make the Sabayon – whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a heatproof bowl, until creamy. Heat a pot with water and add the bowl with the egg yolks on top, whisking constantly. Add the Marsala wine and continue whisking until the Sabayon starts thickening. It usually takes around 10-15 minutes. Remove from the hob and place in a bowl with ice to stop the cooking process.
- In two separate bowl, whisk the mascarpone and double cream respectively.
- Add the Marsala wine and sugar to the espresso and stir well.
- Add the Sabayon to the Mascarpone cheese, mix well and then add the double cream.
- To build the Tiramisu, in a baking tray or cake tin, start dipping the Savoiardi biscuits into the espresso mixture and cover the bottom of the tray. Spread a generous layer of the Sabayon cream and repeat till you’ve used all the biscuits and cream. Finish with the Sabayon. Cover with cling film and place it in the fridge overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust the Tiramisu with cocoa powder.
- Best served with some espresso or Marsala wine. 🙂
Enjoy!
