Happy Tuesday guys! Today’s recipe is Sun-dried Tomato Spelt Bread – healthy and delicious bread made of spelt. 👌
I have become a real ‘spelt lover’ now I’ve tried a few spelt recipes, like these Savoury Spelt Cookies with Emmental Cheese 👉🏻https://mummysfastandeasy.com/2019/10/09/emmental-spelt-cookies/ .
This bread, though is made with sun-dried tomatoes and pumpkin seeds for that extra crunch.
Spelt tastes a bit nutty and dense to me. I loved having this bread with some smashed avocado and lime juice. It is also really good with olives, cream cheese, hummus or plain butter. The last few slices I had as they were, without adding any topping and they were just as delicious.
What you need for this lovely bread
- spelt flour
- 1 eggs
- sun-dried tomatoes
- pumpkin seeds
- bicarbonate of soda
- olive oil
- salt
Here’s how to make this delicious Sun-dried Tomato Spelt Bread
Ingredients:
- 250g spelt flour
- 1 egg
- 4tbsp olive oil
- 100g pumpkin seeds
- 7-8 sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1tsp salt
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- In a bowl, combine the spelt flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda.
- Whisk in the egg and olive oil and add the pumpkin seeds and sliced sun-dried tomatoes.
- Line a loaf tin with baking parchment and put the mixture in.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes.
