Happy Thursday guys! Today’s recipe is Halloween cupcakes – made by my children and me! 😆
Our family absolutely love Halloween and once the calendar changes to October, we start decorating the house and baking spooky treats. The kids absolutely love it and are above excited about Trick or Treat next week. They love the dressing up part, but collecting sweet is their favourite, for sure. Mummy and daddy are about to have some candies too! 🤫😂
We had lots of fun baking and decorating these colourful cupcakes but to be honest with you, it seemed that we all enjoyed eating them more! 😂 It was quite messy but it was all worth it at the end. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious – really moist and chocolatey – there’s 200g of chocolate in there and the buttercream was just spot on. 🤤 The original recipe can be found here.
I leave the decorating up to you. We used some green and red (it actually turned pink) food colouring and for the decoration – breadsticks, Halloween marshmallows, biscuits, chocolate chips and sprinkles. There’s plenty of inspiration everywhere, literally – shops, magazines, tv, online. The children made some spooky ghosts, mice (or other creatures, not sure), spiders and whatnot.
What you need for these Halloween Cupcakes:
- self-rising flour
- butter
- eggs
- sugar
- cocoa
- dark chocolate
- milk
- baking powder
- icing sugar
- vanilla extract

There’s just one day left and it’s the weekend. 🤞 We’ve got another busy weekend planned ahead and I can’t wait for it. Of course, there’s cooking involved. I’m not gonna have much time this time but still enough to make some tasty dinner, I hope. xx
