Beer Battered Cauliflower

Happy Wednesday guys! Recipe of the day is Beer Battered Cauliflower – crispy cauliflower bites in beer batter. 🙂

Beer Battered Cauliflower

I’m in love with these bites – they’re so easy to make and it takes just a few minutes to cook them. Served with a favourite dip, they’re gone in a couple of minutes. Make sure to serve them hot, otherwise the taste is not the same and they lose their crispy coating.

Here’s how to make these Crispy Beer Battered Cauliflower Bites

Ingredients:

  • 2 small cauliflowers, broken n a florets (you could use less or more and simply make less/more batter)

Preparation:

  • First you need to par boil the cauliflower. Heat a pot with water and once it starts boiling, add the cauliflower for around 3 minutes. Leave on a side and pat dry it gently.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, seasoning and gradually start adding the beer, mixing the batter constantly. Th mixture should resemble to a pancake mixture, not too thick or too thin.
  • Now heat a deep frying dish with sunflower oil, at least two-three fingers. Coat the cauliflower florets into the beer batter and place in the heated oil. Be very careful! Make sure you use a really deep dish and do not pour oil to the top, it should be less than half of the dish you’re using.
  • Fry the cauliflower for about 3-4 minutes, turning them halfway.
  • Place the cooked cauliflower on a plate, covered with kitchen towel to soak any excess oil. Serve with some hot salsa, aioli or any dip you fancy.

Enjoy!
