What’s the better on Sunday than a lazy Sunday roast.
Today, I’ve decided to be different, so I made roasted poussins in white wine and garlic & thyme butter.:-)

They turned out super delicious.

The meat is so tender it comes off the bones.
All you need is a couple of poussins, garlic, butter and thyme.
The rest is up to the oven!
Enjoy your Sunday roast!

Here are the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 poussins
  • 100g butter, cut into small pieces, 3.5oz
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 100g dry thyme, 3.5oz
  • 1 cup white wine(dry)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/428°C.
  2. Rub the poussins with the garlic butter.
  3. Sprinkle with thyme.
  4. Add salt.
  5. In a baking tin with a rack pour in the wine.
  6. Place the poussins in the tin.
  7. Cover with foil and cook in the oven for about 45-50 minutes or until ready.
  8. Whilst cooking, check on the poussins regularly – remove the foil, pour some of the wine sauce and cover again.
  9. Finally, when ready, remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
  10. Serve with some roasted veggies and a nice glass of wine!
Enjoy!

Tip: Use a good quality dry white wine(if possible), I use dry Sauvignon Blanc and it is definitely worth it!
